Career Overview

Colin founded the firm in Maroochydore in 1981. He is recognised as an expert in property services and the Managed Investment Act. He has played a pivotal role in floating two of Queensland’s emerging public companies of which he is a Director:

• Oaks Hotels & Resorts Ltd
• Retail Food Group

He has significant experience in Agribusiness being a long-term cattle producer and advisor to Tax - effective projects in Bloodstock, Mangoes, Olives and Hardwood Plantations.

Qualifications/Affiliations

Bachelor of Economics, Diploma of Financial Services, Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Fellow of Community Titles Institute of Queensland, Fellow of Taxation Institute, Registered Tax Agent and Registered Corporations Auditor.

Ian Walker

Director - Financial Services

Ian is a dedicated taxation professional who commenced in public practice in 1990. He is also a qualified financial planner. Ian’s combined expertise in both taxation and financial planning allow him to provide comprehensive strategies to achieve successful outcomes for a broad range of clients.

As Director of Financial Services for Archer Gowland Brisbane, Ian provides high level strategic advice in the areas of Business Strategy, Business Planning, Financial Planning and Taxation. Ian provides a unique combination of technical skills and financial acumen to blend the complexity of modern business into an achievable proposition for clients.

Ian has acted across a spectrum of clients, in terms of size and industry, providing recommendations for buying and selling businesses, restructuring entities, investment planning and superannuation.

Ian also holds advisory roles with many privately owned Australian companies and high net-worth families. He brings an understanding of the complexities and challenges of family owned businesses.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Business, a Masters of Financial Management and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Financial Investment. Ian is a CPA and a Fellow of both the Taxation Institute of Australia and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Scott Wicks
